Bootcamp

Holla Everyone !
After a long time, well busy with the internals & externals in college.
Wanna give you the short review about the Boot camp conducted by E-Cell on 12th October 2019.
The event started around 10am.
Vanditha Rai, Co-Chairperson Of E-Cell, UMIT greeted everyone with her lovely words by welcoming our three hosts for the day.
The event started by playing university song.

The first session of the boot camp was conducted by our very own professor Pratima Tiwari.
She is busy in inspiring people with her talks.
She conducted a session on Leardeship in Enterprenership .
The session started with a small activity. The students were divided in triplets and were asked to draw a logo without using geometrical shapes and to come up with a tag line.
Further they were asked some questions like-
1. "What are the qualities of the leaders ?"
The students came up with answers like confident, goal-oriented, good communication skills, vision, task-oriented etc.
      Then they were asked-
2."What you will do to inculcate all these qualities. ?"
To this question no proper answer came up among the students.

She gave us a Mantra called ''ACT"  to become a great leader.
ACT stands for
A= Audacity meaning : willingness to take bold risk. She told that one should have the courage to ask questions and to be confident enough to speak and take decisions firmly. She also talked about negative side i.e. one should not be over confident. It may lead to over thinking which we should avoid.

C= Contagious. To become great leader one should have a contagious personality i.e. your words/voice should hold some energy that can attract others.

T= Tenacious meaning tending to keep a firm hold of something. A leader should never give up. He/She should try to find different approaches to solve any problem.

The next session was conducted by an entrepreneur Hetal Mundra.
She is an organizer of TEDX at Somaiya college, Vidyavihar and also community architect at Riddl. Her topic for the session was : Empathy based innovation.
She gave us the real background of the entrepreneurs and also some tips on startup ideas.
She told us to look for the collaborators who will be helpful in carrying out the project. Further she told us to observe for the destruction's around us so that we can put our engineering and smart/innovative ideas to solve those problems. Finally she told us to aggregate the model.
She gave us an important, quality required for a great human being i.e. Empathy meaning the ability to understand and share the feelings of others.

The last session was conducted after the lunch break by Neha Bhuskute Joglekar.
She was not only an entrepreneur but alumni of our UMIT 2006 batch. She was the founder and partner of konkan mart - design and manufacture of paper products. Leaving the high paying IT job, she chose this path and started designing and making paper products and selling them on Ecommerce. She is truly an inspiration to all of us and we were glad to have met one of our ex-senior of our college. She enlightened us with her journey from being a student of  UMIT and becoming the owner of the konkan mark products.

Lastly Vote of thanks were given by Rachana Sharma,Treasury of E-Cell, UMIT.
Thanking all the speakers for motivating us and showing us the path in entrepreneurship.
Signing off,
With Love, Revathi Dusa, Creative head, E-Cell UMIT.
